The concept

For successful team building it is very important to find a common language. However, the use of language can easily lead to misunderstandings and teams often tend to agree on a balance of power based on their individual abilities to express themselves verbally.

But what happens when we just leave the words out?

Making music together is a great form of non-verbal communication: following a few basic rules synchronicity and harmony can be created .
However, many of us have a negative self-image when it comes to making music. We believe that it takes a lot of practice, and the fear of hitting the wrong note or not being able to keep a rhythm may make us feel unnecessarily shy.
The goal of the workshop is to remind us of what we can do. Both rhythm and singing require no special training. We simply use what we already have -- body and voice.

Everything is allowed, nothing is wrong.

The workshop starts with warm-up exercises, working with percussion instruments to find a rhythm together -- to synchronize ourselves. We then sing together - loud, quiet, beautiful and weird - everything is allowed, nothing is wrong.
Later we move on to learning instruments such as guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. Basic music making skills can be taught amazingly quickly with a few tricks.
If anyone doesn't feel comfortable singing, they can play an instrument or act as a sound engineer, operating the controls that change the sound of the music.
We don't play pre-written songs, it's about creating something new. The improvisational aspect of creating brings us into the here and now. We neither reproduce nor read music, we play and listen to what each member contributes.

It is the simultaneity of acting and reacting that makes creating music so special.

These sessions can also be audio recorded; so that we can take our precious creations home or use them for external presentations.
The workshop may even lead to bands being formed that can perform at company parties.
In the long term, a fully equipped rehearsal room could even be set up in the company with the employees becoming the band, and thus the best team in the world! So werden die Mitarbeiter zur Band und somit zum besten Team der Welt!
